Bossert's is a brick and mortar store and does not maintain an online catalog. Inventory rotates rapidly and is best browsed in person. The one exception is custom dog tags, which you can order online and have stamped and shipped. Otherwise, we can ship items on request as long as you cover the shipping cost. Yes, Bossert's has decades of experience customizing biker vests, jackets, and uniforms with unit patches, rank insignia, Purple Heart, Vietnam, Bronze Star, branch of service rockers, and custom embroidery. Many of our regular customers are veterans assembling memorial or commemorative vests. Bring the vest and the patches; we handle the rest.

Our knife case is one of the largest dedicated military knife inventories in the Kansas City region. We carry KA-BAR, Ontario, Camillus, Imperial, Utica, Gerber, and other US contract blades, combat knives, bayonets, field knives, and ceremonial blades, across WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and current eras.

Original. Bossert's knife inventory is genuine US issue or genuine commercial military production from the era marked on the blade. We do not stock reproduction knives.

Yes. We custom stamp dog tags on genuine US issue tag stock to historically accurate formats. WWII format, Vietnam format, current GENESIS format, and custom layouts are all available. Bring your exact spelling and any service numbers you want included.

We occasionally have original period issued tags as part of estate purchases or memorabilia collections. Original tags are sold as historical artifacts. Ask at the counter for current availability.

Yes. Provide your seller our contact information: FFL 5-43-047-01-8F-07460, 434 NE 32nd Street, Kansas City, MO 64116, phone (816) 452-2002. When the firearm arrives, we log it into our bound book and notify you when it is ready for pick up. Bring photo ID with your current address, complete the ATF Form 4473, pass the NICS background check, pay the $40 transfer fee, and the firearm is yours.

Usually under 10 minutes on site. Occasionally a check comes back delayed. If NICS has not resolved the check within 3 business days, federal law allows (but does not require) the dealer to complete the transfer. We will call you as soon as your check resolves.

Long guns (rifles, shotguns): yes, in person, with valid photo ID. Handguns must ship to an FFL in the buyer's home state, federal law. We can prepare the transfer to your local FFL.

Yes. Many of our regulars are WWII, Korea, and Vietnam reenactors. We carry period correct uniforms, hardware, and equipment, and the staff can help identify the right pieces for specific impressions.

Yes. Military cold weather gear (ECWCS layers, mukluks, M65 liners, wool sweaters) is some of the most capable cold weather equipment ever produced. Many of our customers buy specifically for hunting, camping, ice fishing, and winter work.

We carry slings, magazines (where legal), pouches, web gear, holsters, and other equipment compatible with civilian rifle and pistol platforms, focused on military pattern gear rather than commercial tactical brands.

Weekday mid mornings (10 AM to noon) and weekday afternoons are usually the lightest. Saturdays are the busiest. If you need detailed help from the counter, weekdays are best.

Yes. We routinely identify militaria for the public. Bring the item in during open hours and someone at the counter will help identify the era, contractor, and authenticity.

We buy quality used and surplus militaria on a case by case basis. Bring the item(s) in during open hours for an in person evaluation. We do not offer remote or photo based estimates.
